In the inaugural address, Chairman Wang Xiaojun noted that while China’s electric power industry has become world-leading, it now faces the dual challenges of energy transition and high-quality development. He emphasized that the association will focus on shifting from scale-based growth to quality and efficiency, strengthening compliance, integrity, and service capabilities to support the development of a new power system.

Wu Chunli stated that the new council will uphold Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and work toward building a strong power nation by focusing on four priorities: first, strengthening political guidance and serving national strategies; second, innovating service approaches and uniting industry efforts; third, promoting exemplary models and driving technological innovation; and fourth, enhancing cultural development to foster harmony in the industry.

On behalf of the association’s working team, Li Yinan expressed commitment to the principles of Party leadership, service orientation, innovation, and compliance. He pledged to continuously enhance the association’s influence, cohesion, and credibility, and provide higher-quality services to member units.

The meeting also presented the 2024 Electric Power Engineering Science and Technology Progress Awards, along with the second round of Industry High-Quality Development Enterprise Awards and Outstanding Entrepreneur Awards.

The authoritative industry publication “A History of Electric Power Survey and Design in China (2001–2021)” was released at the event, documenting two decades of technological breakthroughs and engineering achievements. Meanwhile, China Power Engineering Consulting Group launched a special campaign commemorating the 75th anniversary of electric power planning and design in China, vividly showcasing the industry's progress from following to leading on the global stage.
